I designed this bag from handloom Ikkat cotton fabric sourced on a study trip to rural India to understand local fabric production methods by artisans. IKKAT - the yarns are dyed before weaving using resist dyeing techniques to make patterns on the fabric.
Limited edition stock as this stunning hand woven fabric I sourced from the limited quantities from rural suppliers. The bag is light and is meant for gentle use. Print may be imperfect due to being handmade and the fuzzy print is due to the Ikkat weaving methods and is not a defect. For more information on Ikkat see Wikipedia
Can be used as a shopping bag, tote bag, hand bag, spare bag and of course your holiday trips as it can be flat packed into your handbag or purse as pictured!
Care Instructions - Ikkat Cotton - Handwash separately in cold water as colours will run for first few washes until it stabilizes which is expected due to resist dying techniques. Using a washing machine and dryer is NOT recommended.
*Minor shade variations due to different monitor and lighting, the actual colour of the item might be slightly different from the colour shown on the pictures. Expect minor variations in Jute fabric which makes it naturally beautiful and is not a defect.

Care instructions
Jute / Hessian / Juco - is very resistant to dirt and spot clean / gentle sponge to wipe off any marks. The bag has a laminate on the inside and use a wet cloth to clean the inside liner. Using a washing machine and dryer is NOT recommended as the dryer will melt the laminate. Dry cleaning is fine.
Canvas - Care Instructions: Hand wash separately in cold water. Dry cleaning is fine as well. Drip dry. May shrink due to unbleached canvas used.
Textured Cotton: Hand wash separately in cold water and drip dry. May shrink.
Handlooms Kalamkari / Ikkat: Natural pigment dyes used which will run when washed - this is expected due to the age old process and dyes used. Hand wash separately in cold water and drip dry.
